Luigi Esposito was born on the Amalfi coast, famed for its spectacular coastline and its world renowned food. Luigi arrived in Dundee at the age of 6 and by the age of 15 had launched his first successful business – a fish and chip van!  By 19, he had graduated to his first bricks and mortar premises where he and his beloved Helena worked together and raised their family, the kids napped on the tattie bags in the back shop!

Luigi’s has always been a family business.

 

A passion for ingredients and flavour, the family spirit along with his famous customer service granted him status the Godfather of pizzas in Dundee.

 

He's rolling the dough in that big pizzeria in the sky now but the spirit he brought to his cooking still lives on through daughter Maria, alongside his granddaughter Dominique and her husband Ben.

we have ensured his recipes remain as they were aswell as many new additions. we continue to give the same friendly, happy service +freshly prepared delicious food to our customers.

Dominique prepares the dough using the finest Italian flour and allows it to ferment to give optimum flavour and lightness. our pizzas are topped with italian tomatoes , 100% mozzarella cheese and garnished with fresh garlic and oregano. ben stonebakes your pizza to perfection and takes pride in being the ovenmaster. maria works through bags of potatoes to give you the best homemade chips...they really are the best! she fries delicious fish and lots of other treats too.

 

we are proud to say Our meat comes from scott brother butchers and speciality cured meats come from italy. we take pride in our high quality ingredients here at luigi's buying in local or direct from italy. our basil for pesto is grown in our greenhouse and spinach is grown in our garden.

luigi's was established in 1948 in dryburgh before we relocated to our current premises. we have been on strathmartine road for 40years. we think that speaks for itself.
